ASUS teases their first ROG NUC

Expect to see ASUS’ first ROG NUC at CES 2024

Last year, Intel decided to axe their NUC business. Thankfully, ASUS stepped in to save the Next Unit of Compute (NUC) brand, allowing NUCs to continue to be produced and supported. Now, ASUS are ready to reveal their first new NUCs. At CES we will see the world’s first ROG NUC.

On Twitter/X, ASUS’ ROG sub-brand started teasing their first gaming NUC. This will be a small form factor gaming system that will effectively replace Intel’s NUC 13 Extreme, which we reviewed in 2022. At this time, the specifications of ASUS’ new gaming NUC are unknown.

It is currently unknown if ASUS plans to utilise Intel’s NUC Compute Element cards as part of their new gaming NUC. The system is likely to feature an Intel processor and have space for a variety of GPU options. Will it have enough space for an ROG Strix RTX 4090? We will find out soon.

On January 8th, ASUS plans to showcase their new NUC at their “For Those Who Dare: Transcendence” event. This ROG event will showcase all of brand’s new products. The event will start at 11 PM GMT/ 3 PM Las Vegas time. Expect to hear more about ASUS’ first Republic of Gamers NUC next week.
