Zotac launches their ZONE PC gaming handheld at Gamescom 2024
The Zotac Zone is everything I want in a new Windows gaming handheld
Zotac have officially launched their new Zone PC gaming handheld at Gamescom, and it looks awesome. What we have here is a proper high-end Steam Deck competitor, complete with a 120Hz Full HD AMOLED screen, hall effect triggers and analog sticks, and more.
Unlike most Windows PC gaming handhelds, Zotac had the wisdom to add trackpads to their new Zone handheld. Simply put, this addition makes a lot of PC games much easier to play on handheld devices like this. This includes games like Civilization VI, which doesn’t play best with joysticks.
Powering this new handheld is AMD’s Ryzen 8840U processor, which features Radeon 780M graphics. This device also features 16GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and support for full-sized M.2 2280 SSDs. Users also have the option to fine-tune this handheld’s joysticks with radial dials, and adjust this handheld’s triggers to enable more precise inputs. Like most PC gaming handhelds, MicroSD cards are supported for storage expansion. Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E are also supported. Furthermore, this device also features a built-in kickstand.
With their new Zone handheld, Zotac have created what appears to be a premium product. Inspiration has been taken from high-end customisable controllers and implemented into this Windows-powered handheld.
The Zotac Zone PC gaming handheld is available to pre-order now in the UK for £849 at Overclockers UK and Scan.
