ASUS ROG Ryujin II 360 AIO Cooler Review

When ASUS first changed their packaging from the famous red and silver to black with red accents we admit we were unsure of their decision. After all, when you’ve created such a strong brand why deviate from that? But clearly the people paid to make the big decisions got it right as the current theme is still instantly recognisable as a ROG product.

  

The majority of the extras you get in the box are to do with attaching it to your motherboard socket, but there are a few goodies for those who like maximum value from their Republic of Gamers purchase.

  

Unquestionably the first thing you notice is the square pump and display combo. We’re so used to round pumps, or bevelled square ones, that a completely square one is breathtaking. It also makes perfect sense as it suits all the other straight edges in your system, and frees up the largest area around the CPU Socket.

  

Like all ASUS products the Ryujin II is big on the ROG branding with logos and names almost everywhere you look. You can also see the quality of the hoses and connectors here, as well as the exactness of the pre-applied thermal paste. The vents on the side of the pump will help keep it cool and extend its longevity, something with which we can get on board.

  
  

The Noctua Industrial PPC 2000 RPM fans push a serious amount of air through the radiator, whilst having the quietness for which Noctua are famous. Why design your own fans when you can just go to the best?

  

Within the box you always expect a ROG product to come with some cool accessories, and the Ryujin II has a box to help you control all the features within a simple cable management system. As you would expect it’s very well built and pretty much bombproof.
