Overclocking

Although the extra hardware on the Super will naturally reduce the potential overclocking when compared to the regular RTX 2080 it still manages to push out some good overclocking scores and, perhaps more importantly, manages to maintain an average boost clock very close to the peak boost clock. As we’ve mentioned before, average boost clock has a much larger impact upon your frame rate than peak boost speed, because nobody plays games for a minute or two. You want smoothness over a lengthy gaming session, and the excellent cooling and smooth power delivery enables the RTX 2080 Super to keep chucking out high FPS no matter how long you’re gaming for.
