More racing sims and some Porsche decorating
Over at the Gran Turismo stand, Sony has a setup that includes four racing sim setups and a Porsche. Sadly, we could not tell the model of the Porsche from out quick glance, but it looks like Sony had hired an artist to paint the car like something that could be seen in-game.Â
Sadly, we got no comments on any PC plans that Sony may have for the Gran Turismo series. PlayStation, if you are reading this, start work on a PC version of Gran Turismo please. Â
Below we have a selection of racing sim setups at the Gran Turismo stand, allowing racers to try out Sony’s latest racing sim with some proper hardware. That said, these were not the most high tech racing sims that were on display at Gamescom. Â
Fordzilla
Team Fordzilla, Ford’s esports racing team, were present at Gamescom 2022, and they had a very high tech sim racing setup on display. Competitors could use this setup to see if they could get one of the fastest laps on the Team Fordzilla board. Sadly, we did not have enough time to throw our hat into the ring.
At Gamescom, Ford was also showcasing their new Ford Bronco, a vehicle that has only recently made is European debut. To celebrate, Ford were giving away codes for Forza Horizon 5 to gamers who shared images of the vehicle (real or virtual) in response to this Tweet.Â
While Bethesda did not release any new trailers or gameplay for Starfield at Gamescom, the game did have a prescience at the event. Below is a look at one of the robots that will be present in the game. Sadly, we could not get a better andle of the robot, as Microsoft’s Xbox/Bethesda booth was packed.Â
Say what you will about simulation games, but they are relaxing. There were more than a few Farming Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator fans at Gamescom 2022, so much so that both games had a big prescience at the event. Just look at this tractor, and the huge sign that is behind it. You can’t deny that the game is popular when it can pay for that kind of space at Gamescom.
We loved attending Gamescom 2022, the show was a real sight to behold and it was interesting to see all of the games on show. It is also encouraging to see so many people in attendance given recent history, and look forward to returning to Gamescom next year should we get the opportunity to do so.Â
Special thanks to Samsung, who brought us to Gamescom 2022 to see them launch their new 990 PRO SSD. We hope to review this new SSD in the future, so please let us know if there is anything that you would like to see us test.Â
