ASUS to make a 1080p 24″ version of the ROG Swift

ASUS is going to make a 1080p 24″ version of their popular ROG Swift G-Sync monitor, offering a refresh rate which could be as high as 165Hz.

Right now this monitor is so new that ASUS has not even given it a product number of confirmed it’s full specifications, but judging from the video below (go to 10.57) it currently uses a fast response rate TN panel that currently has a refresh rate of 144Hz, though ASUS did state they they want the release model to have a refresh rate of 165Hz.

ASUS’ ROG Swift series of monitors has from the start been some of the most popular G-Sync monitors on the market, offering a wide range of panel type and resolutions to suit the needs of any gamer. Offering a new 24″ 1080p variant of the monitor will allow gamers to have the ROG Swift gaming experience at a cheaper price than ever before, which is certainly a good thing.

ASUS have not given us a release date or a final price for this monitor yet, but it is expected to launch sometime this year, hopefully in time for Nvidia’s new Pascal GPUs. In related news, ASUS was recently reported to have acquired 40% of the gaming LCD market in a recent Digitimes report
