AMD confirms that a ‘small batch’ of Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPUs have vapor chamber issues

A small batch of Made By AMD (MBA) RX 7900 XTX graphics cards have vapour chamber issues

In an interview with PC World, AMD’s Scott Herkelman has confirmed that a “small batch” or Made By AMD (MBA) Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards have been faulty vapour chambers, resulting in temperature spikes in affected graphics cards. 

During the interview, AMD has confirmed that they will replace all affected MBA RX 7900 XTX graphics cards, and that none of the custom Radeon RX 7900 XTX designs from their partners are affected. Additionally, AMD has confirmed that none of their Radeon RX 7900 XT MBA cards are affected by this issue. 

AMD has asked that all owners of reference/Made By AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards that are effected by thermal issues contact AMD or the bard partner behind their graphics card (ASUS, Gigabyte, PowerColor etc) to get their graphics card replace. AMD has also refuted rumours that they do not have enough Radeon RX 7900 XTX MBA graphics cards to replace faulty units.  

AMD has tested affected RX 7900 XTX units with faulty vapour chambers and have confirmed that faulty reference RX 7900 XTX graphics cards are safe to use, but that users should seek a replacement graphics card to give themselves the best experience possible.
