Scan detail new Ryzen Overclocked bundles

Scan has now launched new AMD Ryzen overclocked bundles, showcasing Ryzen’s support for fast DDR4 memory and a quick look at overclocking potential.

All of these kits use Corsair 3000MHz memory kits and feature overclocked CPUs, with prices ranging from £579.98 to £1019.99, coming with a CPU, motherboard, cooler and memory.

Below is a list of all of the available bundles:

– 3XS Ryzen 7 Overclocked Bundle, AMD 1800X @ 4.2GHz, an ASUS X370-Pro motherboard, 16GB of Corsair Memory @ 3000MHz and an H100i CPU cooler – £929.99

– 3XS Ryzen 7 Overclocked Bundle, AMD 1700 @ 3.8GHz, an ASUS B350-Plus, 16GB of Corsair Memory @ 3000MHz and an H100i CPU cooler – £699.98

Please note that these overclocking results are not representative of the final overclocking potential of Ryzen, especially when considering that Scan does not offer any Intel X99 bundles that are clocked at over 4.2GHz.

These bundles do lay to rest concerns that Ryzen will not be suitable for use with high-speed DDR4, with these kits running with 3000MHz kits without any issues, even on AMD’s lower end B350 motherboards.

While scan has not released any performance numbers for these bundles, they do offer AMD fans assurance that Ryzen will run with 3000MHz memory at launch.

It is also worth noting that all of these bundles cost less than Intel’s 8-core X99 i7 6900K, with the exception of the flagship bundle that comes in £10 more expensive. This means that these bundles offer a lot of value for money, coming with memory, motherboards and a factory overclock for similar or lower prices than Intel’s competing 8-core CPU, leaving Ryzen in a great position.
