Overclockers UK says that AMD’s Ryzen 5 CPUs will release in a “couple of weeks”

On the Overclockers UK Forums, a member of staff called Gibbo has stated that AMD’s Ryzen 5 CPUs will be releasing in the “next couple of weeks”, suggesting that these new CPUs will be releasing in early April.

AMD has already stated that their Ryzen 5 CPUs will be releasing in Q2 2017, which means that these new CPUs will be releasing between April and June. Only one of those months fits into the “next couple of weeks” timeframe that Gibbo has suggested, placing the Ryzen 5 launch somewhere in the first half of April.

Below is a list of all confirmed AMD Ryzen SKUs and their known clock speeds and specifications;

Processor Name Cores Threads Base Clock Speeds Boost Clock Speeds TDP Price UK
Ryzen 7 1800X 8 16 3.6GHz 4.0GHz 95W £489
Ryzen 7 1700X 8 16 3.4GHz 3.8GHz 95W £389
Ryzen 7 1700 8 16 3.0GHz 3.7GHz 65W £319
Ryzen 5 1600X 6 12 3.6GHz 4.0GHz
Ryzen 5 1500X 4 8 3.5GHz 3.7GHz

At this time the TDPs and price points of these new Ryzen SKUs are unknown, though it is likely that AMD will be releasing more information on these new SKUs soon.
