Some retail stores have already sold Ryzen 5 CPUs

AMD’s Ryzen 5 CPUs will release on April 11th, though some retail stores have been reported as not only having stock of these CPUs but actually selling them to consumers.

Below is an image of an AMD Ryzen 5 CPU that was purchased in Brazil, which means that a supply of Ryzen 5 CPUs already being distributed to retailers, with these early sales likely resulting in some future performance leaks for AMD’s Ryzen 5 series of processors.

AMD’s distributors are expected to force retailers to respect a sales embargo on products, typically preventing early sales like this. At this time it is unknown who is at fault to allow these early sales to occur, whether the distributor forgot the set an embargo or if a retailer (or a member of its staff) chose to ignore it.

With stock already being available at retailers, it is likely that AMD will have plenty of Ryzen 5 CPUs in stock at launch for prospective buyers, which is great news for those that want to take advantage of AMD’s more affordable Ryzen series CPUs.
