Imagination Technologies opens legal dispute with Apple

Right now, Apple provided Imagination Technologies with over half of their revenue, with Apple’s recent announcement to ditch the company causing their share prices to drop by over 70% within 24-hours.   

Imagination wishes to change their agreement with Apple to create new licensing and royalty contracts with Apple, though so far there has been no success in this regard. 

At this time it is unknown what Apple’s plans are, with many expecting Apple to create their own GPU technology from the ground up while others expect them to license GPU technology from a different 3rd party.

Imagination Technologies has made it clear that they will do everything in their power to protect their own IP, which certainly restricts Apple’s options when creating their own GPU technology.
