DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is coming to the PC

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is officially coming to both PC and PS4 in the west, complete with English voice acting a new Draconian Quest mode to offer a more challenging gaming experience.

The game will release on September 4th on Steam and PS4, over a year after the game’s Japanese release on Nintendo 3DS and PS4. A Nintendo Switch version is also planned but has no set release date.

The game uses the art style of the famed Japanise manga Artist Akira Toriyama, using Unreal Engine 4 to offer a unique visual style and around 100 hours of content with all new characters. Dragon Quest XI is standalone within the franchise, making it an ideal entry point for newcomers, with modern visuals, turn-based combat and an immersive story.

The worldwide release of Dragon Quest XI will offer the following new features which were not present in the game’s Japanise version at launch.

English Voiceover
Draconian Quest, a hard mode that offers additional challenges for more experienced players.
Overhauled Menus & UI, with graphical enhancements and more intuitive navigation.
Camera Mode, allowing players to take in views of the beautiful landscape, character renders and ferocious monsters in detail.
A New Dash Function and many other system enhancements such as improved character and camera movement

This release will be the first time a main-series Dragon Quest game has made it onto PC, expanding the series to a new audience while offering the opportunity to achieve higher levels of graphical quality than the game’s console counterparts.
