ASRock is set to showcase AMD B450 motherboards at Computex next week
AMD’s B450 chipset will replace the company’s existing B350 series models, offering some improvements in functionality as well as native support for Raven Ridge (Ryzen+Vega APUs) and Ryzen 2nd Generation processors.
It is likely that B450 will offer many of the same benefits as X470 did over X370, including lower chipset power draw, enhanced memory support, and support for technologies like XFR 2.0 and StoreMI, though at this time exact hardware benefits are unknown.
ASRock also plans to showcase their new Phantom Gaming series graphics cards at the event, alongside new hardware for both blockchain and HPC (high-performance computing) applications.
AMD’s B350 series motherboards offered users the most value in AMD’s original Ryzen lineup, providing a lower price tag than X370 while delivering all of the features that most PC gamers require. Not many builders need the extra SATA ports and the Crossfire validation offered by X370, making AMD’s B350 chipset an ideal way for consumers to save some money, especially given the overclocking capabilities of most mid-range B350 motherboards.
