Total War: Warhammer III is in pre-production – ‘it’s absolute Chaos’

In their latest “what the teams are working on” blog, Creative Assembly has confirmed that Total War: Warhammer III is currently in pre-production, with the fantasy game team stating that their studio is “absolute chaos”.

While this is very little to go on, Creative Assembly has already released a lot of information about the game, confirming that the game will offer a combined campaign map which will deliver players the Old World of Total War: Warhammer, the New World of Total War: Warhammer II and the lands included in Total War: Warhammer III.

Creative Assembly has called this combined map their codename “A Very Big Campaign”, though given what we know about the Warhammer Fantasy universe the only way the game can move is east, towards the lands of the Chaos Dwarfs, the Ogre Kingdoms and the Human lands of Ind, Cathay and Nippon.

The Total War: Warhammer series was initially intended as a trilogy, giving players high hopes that Total War: Warhammer III will deliver a full Warhammer Fantasy world map for players to conquer.

The development of Total War: Warhammer III will not leave Total War: Warhammer II in the past, with Creative Assembly planning to release both paid and free DLC for the game in the future. The next free DLC for the title is expected to be a new Dark Elves Legendary Lord, with an unknown campaign pack also being in the works.
