Valve’s Artifact card game will release this November

Artifact, Valve’s upcoming fantasy card game, is now set to release this November, ending a long period of silence from one of PC gaming’s most well-known brands.

Valve claims that this card game will offer the “deepest gameplay and highest fidelity experience ever in a fantasy card game”, promising players more than 280 cards at launch and the ability to buy and sell these cards on the Steam Community Market. Buying and selling specific cards is not possible in competing card games like Blizzard’s Hearthstone, making it easier to access specific cards in Artifect.

The game will release first on Steam and release on Mobile platforms in 2019, with the game coming with an upfront $20 price tag. Cards within the game will be themed on DOTA 2, with the games $20 buy in giving players tow basic decks with 54 cards each (5 heroes, 9 items and 40 other cards) and 10 sealed card packs (each include 12 cards). Each Artifact card pack will cost $2 at launch.

Artifact will be playable at Pax West, which takes place between August 31st and September 3rd, which means that the public should have access to gameplay soon.
