ASUS reveals its lower cost XG43VQ 4K 120Hz Gaming Display
We have spoken about the XG43UQ and the XG438Q before, so the bulk of this article will discuss the lower-cost XG43VQ. The XG43VQ offers users support for 4K resolutions, 120Hz refresh rates, VESA Adaptive-Sync and support for AMD’s Radeon FreeSync 2 technology.
In terms of HDR, this screen meets VESA’s DisplayHDR 400 certification and can cover 90% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. This monitor also uses a VA screen panel.
This display is designed to offer 4K at 120Hz at a low-ish level price point, with the main sacrifice being in terms of the screen’s HDR experience. ASUS’ higher cost 4K 120Hz monitors will offer higher-end HDR experiences, but these higher-end specifications come with higher pricing.
ASUS has not revealed the release date/timeframe of their XG43VQ display at this time. The XG438Q is due to release in late August/early September, and the higher-end XG43UQ is expected to release sometime in Q4 2019.
