Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 (Remake) was easily one of Capcom’s most successful 2019 releases, launching with high-quality versions on all platforms. Now, it looks like Capcom plans to capitalise on this success by creating a remake of Resident Evil 3, using the RE Engine once more to deliver stellar visuals and gameplay improvements that simply weren’t possible on the game’s original versions.

Gamstat, a website which tracks anything added to the PlayStation Network, has managed to grab covers for Resident Evil 3’s planned remake. The presence of these images on PSN suggests that an official reveal is imminent.

It is possible that Resident Evil 3 will be revealed later today as part of Sony’s 25th PlayStation Anniversary, a nod to the series’ origins as a PlayStation series. It has also been suggested that the game will be revealed at this year’s The Game Awards, which takes place on December 13th.
