A Cyberpunk Anime is in the works – Meet Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger have confirmed that a Cyberpunk anime is in the works, a standalone series which will be based in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077.
In 2022, the series will be released on Netflix as a 10-episode story, which will follow a street kid that’s trying to survive a world filled with body modification and violence. Thring the series, the series’ protagonist will become an Edgerunner, an outlaw mercenary that’s also known as a Cyberpunk.
Studio Trigger is known for working on Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia and SSSS.Gridman. The story for Cyberpunk Edgerunner will be original, which is great news for fans of CD Projekt Red’s upcoming game and fans of the tabletop RPG that inspired both.
More information about Cyberpunk Edgerunner will become available as the anime is developed.
