GOG warns Cyberpunk 2077 players about Save Data Corruption Bug
This bug occurs when Cyberpunk 2077 save files exceed 8MB in size, with GOG recommending that PC gamers “try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials” to prevent their save files from being damaged.
GOG has also recommended that PC gamers avoid using Cyberpunk 2077’s item “duplication glitch”, which can see a player’s stock of items explode in size. CD Projekt Red is reportedly working on a fix which will allow Cyberpunk 2077 to support larger save files with a future game patch, though this fix will not fix already corrupted/damaged save files.
Another fact that’s worth noting is that GOG says that “the save file limit might be increased”, which means that larger save file support may not ever come to the game. While CR Project Red are working on the issue, there is no guarantee that this issue will be fixed.
