Gigabyte’s new RTX 4070 Ti SUPER WINDFORCE MAX has a “hidden” power connector

Is this the perfect GPU for vertical mounting?

Gigabyte has released their new RTX 4070 Ti SUPER WINDFORCE MAX graphics card, offering users a large cooling solutions and a non-standard power connection location. This’s GPU’s power connector is in a weird spot, and it took me a while to understand Gigabyte’s thinking here. But then it hit me! This GPU is made with vertical mounting in mind.

If you mount this graphics card vertically inside your system, users should be able to route their GPU power cable in a way that makes it almost invisible. This will help PC builders achieve a “cable free” aesthetic. This is will be especially helpful for users of back-connect motherboards.

Specifications-wise, this graphics card is a lot like Gigabyte’s other RTX 4070 Ti SUPER WINDFORCE GPUs. It has a moderate factory overclock of 45 MHz over Nvidia’s reference specifications. This makes it marginally faster than a baseline RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

(Look at that power connector placement)

This graphics card is 331mm long, 136mm wide, and 55.5mm thick. This makes the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER WINDFORCE MAX a huge graphics card. This GPU is one of the larger RTX 4070 Ti SUPER GPUs available, making it a great option for gamers who want a large GPU inside their system.
