Wreckfest 2 has been revealed for PC and consoles

Wreckfest 2 is coming to PC and current-gen consoles

THQ Nordic and Bugbear have announced that Wreckfest 2 is now in development for PC and current-generation consoles. This game is a sequel to 2018’s Wreckfest, a beloved racing title that revitalised the long dormant “destruction derby racing” genre.

This new racer will come with a “completely overhauled physic engine”. Beyond that, this gam will feature “revamped game modes”, fully customisable vehicles, and more.

Given the game’s status as a current-generation only release, Bugbear should be able to use the power of modern PCs and consoles to crank up tis game’s destruction mechanics. Beyond that, the game’s planned Steam version will have Steam Workshop mod support.

Wreckfest 2 will have mod support on PC

On Steam, Wreckfest 2 will feature official mod support. This will allow gamers to expand the game with fan created content. This content may include new tracks, vehicles, or game modes. This should make Steam the best place to play Wreckfest 2.

Sadly, THQ Nordic has not revealed when Wreckfest 2 will become available to purchase. Personally, I am glad to see that this destruction racer getting a sequel. This is an underserved genre, and I am glad to see that THQ Nordic is reiving it.
