AMD plans Ryzen 5 9600X3D CPU with 3D V-Cache

It looks like AMD is already planning to launch Ryzen 5 9600X3D CPUs

AMD has already confirmed that they plan to launch V-Cache enhanced Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs. Recent rumours suggest that AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D may launch in late October or early November. Now, it looks like AMD is already planning to launch a lower-end Zen 5 X3D CPU. This CPU is the Ryzen 5 9600X3D.

AMD’s X3D technology adds more L3 cache to AMD’s Ryzen processors. This added cache is a big deal for gaming workloads and makes AMD’s X3D CPUs some of the best gaming processors on the market. With a 6-core Ryzen 5 X3D CPU, AMD can bring their X3D technology to lower price points, making this technology more accessible. More importantly, at least for AMD, it would generate increased sales within the lower-end CPU and gaming PC markets.

Until now, AMD has not been keen to release Ryzen 5 X3D CPUs onto the mass market. AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X3D and Ryzen 5 7600X3D launched much later than their 8-core Ryzen 7 counterparts. Additionally, both CPUs were released as retailer-exclusive SKUs and were not widely available. Will the Ryzen 5 9600X3D be released earlier than expected? Will it be more widely available than its predecessors? Only AMD knows…
