Silent Hill 2 receives major PC improvements with patch 1.04

Silent Hill 2’s first PC update delivers some major changes

Blooper Team has released patch 1.04 for their remake of Silent Hill 2, bringing some major improvements to the game on PC. For starters, the game now supports AMF FSR 3.1.1 and Nvidia’s DLSS 3 Frame Generation technologies. Additionally, stuttering issues for the game have reportedly been fixed.

Steam Deck users can enjoy Silent Hill 2 with improved performance and optimisation for Valve’s mobile gaming hardware. A new option to “enable/disable HZB culling” has also been added to address stuttering on AMD and Intel GPUs. Sadly, Blooper Team has not revealed which option prevents stuttering on these graphics cards.

Overall, PC gamers should now have a better experience playing Silent Hill 2, thanks to patch 1.04. Frame Generation, either through DLSS or AMD FSR 3, is a great addition. Furthermore, today’s update also adds some gameplay changes. Full patch notes for update 1.04 are available here.
