Nvidia reports CPU issues with Corsair iCUE and Bluestacks with latest GeForce GPU driver

Corsair iCUE users should probably skip Nvidia’s latest GeForce GPU drivers

Nvidia has released their new GeForce 566.03 WHQL driver for Windows PCs, which is “Game Ready” for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Alan Wake 2: The Lake House, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. If you are an Nvidia user and want to play these games at launch, you should grab these new GPU drivers. That said, users of Corsair iCUE or Bluestacks may want to skip this Nvidia driver release.

Corsair iCUE is Corsair’s all-in-one control software for their PC hardware and accessories, and Bluestacks is an Android emulator for Windows. With Nvidia’s latest GPU drivers, the company has reported “higher than normal CPU usage” for both software solutions as an “Open Issue”. That means that Nvidia is currently working on fixing this problem.

Overall, Nvidia’s GeForce 566.03 WHQL driver release is a solid release. As mentioned before, it is “Game Ready” for three new titles. Additionally, it adds “GeForce Experience Optimal Settings” for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, NBA 2K5, and Silent Hill 2. Furthermore, it adds G-Sync monitor support for 32 new monitors.

Users of Corsair iCUE or Bluestacks should consider skipping this Nvidia driver release. With heightened CPU usage for this software, it is likely that this driver will reduce the overall performance of your PC. That could be a big deal for any CPU-limited application. That said, the performance drop may be hard to spot in many scenarios. Even so, we think it is best for users of this software to wait for a hotfix or a newer driver release from Nvidia.
