ASUS goes gold crazy with its 7.2 kg real gold RTX 5090
This ROG Astral RTX 5090 contains 5kg of real gold!
ASUS has built what could be the world’s most expensive graphics card. No, we aren’t talking about ASUS’ ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition. ASUS has built an ROG graphics card with 5kg of real gold.
Weighing in at 7.2 kg, this golden ROG Astral RTX 5090 is probably the most expensive graphics card in existence. With Gold costing around £80,000 per kilo, this GPU costs $400,000 in gold alone.
ASUS showcases this new graphics card at Bilibili World 2025 in China, where @realVictor_M took several pictures of the graphics card.

Performance-wise, this graphics card should perform like any other ROG Astral RTX 5090. Given the weight of this GPU, anyone using it should invest in some robust GPU supports. After all, this 7.2kg graphics card will sag without support. Without support, this GPU’s weight would likely break any motherboard it’s connected to, or damage the GPU’s PCIe slot.
What will happen to this GPU after this event? Our guess is that ASUS will melt down its golden elements. That would allow ASUS to recoup its investment. That said, there’s bound to be a billionaire somewhere who wants to own the world’s most expensive graphics card?
