Nvidia confirms its “looking into” Windows 11 Update KB5074109

Nvidia recommends uninstalling Windows 11 Update KB5074109 if users face issues

Last month’s Update KB5074109 for Windows 11 is still causing issues, to the point that Nvidia representatives have had to weigh in on their official support forums (via Windows Latest). In response to one use, Manuel@NVIDIA recommended uninstalling the update after users reported issues with Forza Horizon 5.

Since the update was released, many PC gamers have reported strange issues. This includes performance issues and visual artefacts. While it is worth noting that not all PC gamers are reporting these issues, they are common enough for Nvidia to be “looking into it”.

For now, users facing issues have been told that “uninstalling KB5074109” can fix things. It is currently unknown when Microsoft plans to address the issues in update KB5074109. That said, it is possible that Nvidia may release a hotfix driver to mitigate the issue. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time that Nvidia has had to release new drivers to address issues with new Windows updates.

Notably, Nvidia’s representative mentioned Windows 11’s KB5074109 unprompted. The update was not mentioned by the user above. Clearly, Nvidia has linked this update to visual issues in Forza Horizon 5, and perhaps other games. Hopefully these issues will be resolved soon, either by a new Windows update or an Nvidia GeForce driver update.
