Marvel’s Wolverine finally receives its release date

Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PlayStation 5 this year

Sony has officially unveiled their release date for Marvel’s Wolverine, confirming that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 this year. Along with this announcement comes a new gameplay trailer, embedded below.

Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PlayStation 5 on September 15th, two months ahead of the planned release of Grand Theft Auto 6. The game is set in the same universe as Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series, though Wolverine will be a linear action game rather than an open-world game.

No PC release date for Marvel’s Wolverine has been revealed. At launch, the game will only be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 coming to PS5 in October 2023 and PC in January 2025, it is likely that Marvel’s Wolverine will come to PC within the next two years. Note that most modern PlayStation 5 exclusives now come to PC following a time of PlayStation console exclusivity.

Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.

From Insomniac Games, the developers of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, comes Marvel’s Wolverine, an all-new take on an iconic character based on Marvel Comics. Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel’s Wolverine coming to PlayStation 5 consoles Fall 2026.

Insomniac Games

Marvel’s Wolverine will be a single-player-only game, playable offline. Furthermore, this game reportedly serves as a setup for a future X-Men game from Insomniac.

The trailer above confirms that Marvel’s Wolverine will feature many familiar characters from the X-Men universe. This includes Sabertooth and Mistique. The game also includes various global settings. This will include the American Midwest and Japan.
