Intel to launch new Core Ultra Desktop CPUs on March 11th

Intel’s expected to unveil its refreshed lineup of Core Ultra CPUs this month

It looks like Intel is getting ready to launch its Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPUs, refreshing the company’s Core Ultra 200 series lineup. According to Videocardz, Intel plans to unveil its “Arrow Lake Refresh” on March 11th and has a second NDA for March 23rd. This could mean that Intel plans to unveil and launch these new CPUs this month.

Previously, Intel were reportedly planning to release a Core Ultra 9 290K PLUS model. However, this model was reportedly cancelled over value concerns. Intel’s new Ultra 5 Plus and Ultra 7 Plus both feature higher clock speeds, support for higher memory speeds, and four more E-cores than their predecessors. These changes give Intel’s refreshed CPU lineup more performance in all areas. With Intel’s planned Ultra 9 model, the company could not add additional cores to its processor. This limited this model’s potential performance gains.

A solid performance boost for Intel, but is it enough?

With more cores and higher clock speeds, Intel’s refreshed Core Ultra 200K PLUS lineup should deliver more performance and value for PC builders. However, it remains to be seen if this move will be enough to drive sales for Intel. After all, memory prices have skyrocketed over the past six months. That alone is deterring many people from building new PCs or upgrading their systems.
