Nvidia confirms DLSS 4.5 upgrade for War Thunder

Nvidia has confirmed that War Thunder will be getting upgraded with support for DLSS 4.5, improving the fidelity of Nvidia’s AI upscaling solution. With this change, Nvidia users should be able to enjoy clearer visuals in War Thunder, especially when upscaling from lower resolutions.

Nvidia has boasted better than native levels of image quality with DLSS in War Thunder since 2020. Now, Nvidia’s newest DLSS iteration is taking things to the next level.

With DLSS 4.5 upscaling, Nvidia has promised improved temporal stability, reduced ghosting, and smoother edges. With a direct game integration in War Thunder, gamers can enjoy these benefits without using DLSS Overrides.

Gaijin Entertainment’s War Thunder is one of the top 20 most played games on Steam each week, featuring hundreds of high-fidelity, accurately rendered tanks and other ground military vehicles, planes, warships, and more, which players take command of in a variety of arcade and realistic game modes.

War Thunder has been constantly updated since release, adding new technologies and enhancements, including DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution, and a suite of ray-traced effects.

In a forthcoming update, War Thunder will be upgraded with support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, further improving fidelity in the much-loved game.

With DLSS Upscaling, Nvidia promises improved visuals and higher framerates compared to native-resolution rendering. This gives GeForce RTX GPU users clearer visuals and more performance headroom for War Thunder’s more advanced graphical effects. Since launch, War Thunder has been updated with support for ray tracing and other graphical enhancements.

Sadly, Gaijin Entertainment has not unveiled when War Thunder will receive its new DLSS update.
