New AMD Ryzen CPU leak with boosted speeds

Two new AMD Ryzen CPUs leak with boosted TDPs and clock speeds

A new leak from chi11eddog has unveiled two potential AMD CPUs that could launch this year to refresh AMD’s Ryzen 9000 range. These new CPUs feature higher base/boost clock speeds than their existing counterparts. That means they aim to deliver higher performance for users.

The Ryzen 7 9750X and Ryzen 5 9650X both reportedly feature a TDP of 120W. This change enabled much higher base clock speeds and more sustained performance. This is a huge increase over the 65W TDPs of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X. Both of these new CPUs lack 3D V-Cache, so they have 32MB of L3 Cache.

For the Ryzen 7 9750X and Ryzen 5 9650X, both models feature a boost clock speed that is 100 MHz higher than AMD’s existing models. Base clock speeds are much higher, with a 400 MHz boost for both models. For the Ryzen 7 9750X, that’s an increase of 10.5%.

Overall, this is a very simple update for AMD’s AM5 CPU lineup. Higher TDPs enable higher clock speeds and higher levels of single-threaded and multi-threaded performance. It is currently unknown when these new CPUs will be released, though we expect them to arrive within the next few months.
