These Lego Batman PC system requirements are an abomination
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s PC system requirements are a disgrace
The PC system requirements of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight have arrived, and whoever crafted them should be ashamed of themselves. The game is due to launch on PC on May 22nd, and the only word we can use to describe LEGO Batman’s PC system requirements is ‘abomination’.
Even for 30 FPS gameplay, Frame Generation is recommended. This showcases a severe lack of understanding of what Frame Generation is meant for. Frame Generation is about increasing the fluidity of games with generated frames, not about using them as a crutch for poor PC performance. Frame Generation should be an optional feature for users with high refresh rate displays, not a baseline requirement to hit a 30 FPS or 60 FPS performance target.
This game’s minimum GPU is a 4GB GTX 960, a graphics card from 2015. If TT Games had any sense, they would have listed a newer GPU capable of achieving 30 FPS gameplay without Frame Generation. Furthermore, they would apologise for recommending such a poor experience.

PC System Requirements
If these system requirements are anything to go by, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight isn’t going to run well on PC. While the game’s minimum and recommended GPUs are fairly low-end, they target 30 FPS and 60 FPS, respectively, with Frame Generation. Note that this is a “real” framerate of 15 FPS and 30 FPS, respectively.
Minimum
- OS – Windows 11
- CPU – Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- GPU – GTX 960 4GB, RX 6400 4GB, or ARC A580 8GB
- Storage – 50GB SSD
- Target – 1080p Low Settings at 30 FPS
- Upscaling/Frame Gen – FSR/XeSS Balanced + FG
Recommended
- OS – Windows 11
- CPU – Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- GPU – RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB, RX 6650 XT 8GB, or ARC B580 12GB
- Storage – 50GB SSD
- Target – 1440p Medium Settings at 60 FPS
- Upscaling/Frame Gen – DLSS/FSR/XeSS Quality + FG
4K
- OS – Windows 11
- CPU – Intel Core i7-14700K or AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- GPU – RTX 4070 12GB, or RX 9070 XT 16GB
- Storage – 50GB SSD
- Target – 4K 60 FPS
- Upscaling/Frame Gen – DLSS/FSR/XeSS Quality + FG
These PC system requirements need to be redone
Honestly, these PC system requirements are a disgrace. Recommending Frame Generation for 60 FPS gameplay is a bad idea. Recommending it for 30 FPS gameplay is disgraceful. That leaves games with a real framerate of 15 FPS, which means they will feel terrible to play. The general recommendation is that a game should run at 60 FPS before Frame Generation is enabled, as this helps ensure it feels responsive. If gamers enable frame generation without a solid baseline framerate, games will feel sluggish and unresponsive.
Frame Generation should be used to boost a game’s framerate from a decent level to much higher levels. It isn’t a crutch to excuse bad performance. As it stands, Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s PC system requirements leave a terrible first impression. As it stands, we cannot recommend buying this game until 3rd-party analyses of its PC performance are available.
My advice to TT Games and Warner Bros is to rewrite these PC system requirements immediately. Rewrite them without frame generation as a listed requirement. Yes, this means that higher-end hardware recommendations are necessary. However, this will help PC gamers have a good experience with recommended PC hardware.
