Gears of War: E-Day will be RTX-On at launch
Gears of War: E-Day receives a PC-focused RTX trailer
Nvidia and The Coalition have released a short PC trailer for Gears of War: E-Day, confirming that the game will have official “RTX” support on day-1. On PC, the game will support Nvidia DLSS 4.5 and make extensive use of ray tracing. On compatible GeForce RTX hardware, the game will support DLSS 4.5 upscaling, multi-frame generation, and Dynamic Frame Generation.
With Unreal Engine 5.8, Gears of War E-Day makes extensive use of ray tracing with “MegaLights”. This feature enables performant ray-traced shadows on PC and consoles with up to 100 light sources. With Lumen, the game also features ray-traced global illumination lighting and ambient occlusion. On all platforms, ray tracing is a must for Gears of War: E-Day.
Alongside DLSS, Gears of War: E-Day also supports Nvidia Reflex. This feature reduces PC latency, making the game feel more responsive. This can give gamers gameplay advantages in both the game’s campaign and during competitive play.
Gears of War: E-Day also promises to be more detailed than prior Gears games thanks to The Coalition’s use of Nanite. Nanite can increase object detail by up to 100x compared to Gears 5. Gears 5 also makes extensive use of real-time destruction, allowing the game’s world to react more to what’s happening inside it (within limits).
Gears of War: E-Day is coming to PC and Xbox on October 6th 2026. The game will have an open beta next month. Pre-orderers will get access to this beta early on August 6th.
