IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light is now Steam Deck Verified, confirming that the game performs well on Valve’s PC gaming handheld. This verification comes after the release of Update #1, which added new content to the game and removed Denuvo’s controversial anti-tamper technology.

With Steam Deck Verification comes Steam Machine Verification and SteamOS compatibility. After all, if the game can run on a Steam Deck, it will be able to run on more powerful SteamOS machines.

On Steam Deck, gamers have reported playing 007 First Light at 30-40 FPS in most scenes. However, many gamers have reported framerate dips during explosions. Even so, playing this game is a big achievement for Valve’s Steam Deck. After all, the handheld was first released in 2022, and its hardware is old by today’s standards.

When Valve launched its Steam Deck handheld, many gamers expected it to age poorly. After all, the handheld uses much less powerful hardware than current-generation consoles.
