The Witcher 3 Remastered is coming to PC and consoles
The Witcher 3 is getting a free remastered version next month
CD Projekt Red has unveiled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, a new, upgraded version of the company’s classic RPG. The Remaster will be available on all current-generation platforms. This includes PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2. Existing owners will receive a free upgrade on their platform.
Alongside a free upgrade to the game’s Remastered version, owners of The Witcher 3 will receive free copies of the game’s Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine DLCs. This gives all owners plenty of reasons to return to the path ahead of the release of next year’s Songs of the Past expansion in 2027.
The game’s Remastered version will be released on September 29th.
Huge graphical upgrades
The Witcher 3 was already a great-looking game, and its next-generation patch had already enhanced the game on many platforms. Now, The Witcher 3 has received a larger overhaul. The game will have updated textures, refined animations, improved game systems, camera controls, and combat. The Witcher 3 won’t just look better with this remaster; it will play better. Other improvements include better Witcher Signs effects, improved traversal/movement, a redesigned skill tree, and enhanced monster behaviour.
Visually, gamers can enjoy improved ray tracing, foliage, HDR support, and a global lighting overhaul. On PC, the game will feature native DirectX 12 support, a path tracing mode, and support for modern upscaling technologies.
The game will support AMD FSR 4, Nvidia DLSS 4.5 (with Ray Reconstruction), and Intel XeSS 2. Ray-traced hair is an added feature. Additionally, the game should run more efficiently on PC and consoles thanks to rendering parallelisation. Below is a full list of confirmed upgrades for The Witcher 3 Remastered.
