Control Resonant sells over 1 million copies in less than a month
Control Resonant may be Remedy’s fastest-selling game to date
Remedy Entertainment’s games are critically acclaimed, but that doesn’t mean that their sales are industry-leading. Remedy’s last game, Alan Wake 2, took over a year to reach profitability, and Control took over two years to sell more than 2 million copies. With Control Resonant, Remedy appears to have made its fastest-selling game to date, reaching over 1 million sales in less than a month.
Control Resonant has the potential to become Remedy’s most successful game to date, hitting the million-sales milestone much faster than Alan Wake 2. It is currently unknown what Control Resonant’s budget was, so it remains to be seen if Control Resonant has turned a profit yet.
Earlier this year, Control reached 6 million sales. That means that Resonant has a long way to go before it catches up to its predecessor. That said, Control launched in 2019 and has benefited from DLC and next-generation game updates. Even today, Control looks great, especially on PC.

Control Resonant currently has a “Very Positive” review rating on Steam. Critics and series veterans still rate the game highly, despite its gameplay changes from Control. Unlike Control, Control Resonant is a hack-and-slash game. It isn’t “Control 2”. Even so, it is an excellent entry for the franchise.
The first Control game is currently available for £4.94 on Steam thanks to an 85% discount for its “Ultimate Edition”. This discount will be available until October 22nd.
