If you are looking to build an HTPC, casual gaming PC or a media hub the Zotac ION may be the platform for you. The Zotac ION delivers an integrated CPU and GPU with high-definition video playback and SATA RAID capabilities all neatly packed into a single mini-ITX platform. Using Nvidia’s new Nvidia ION graphics processor the Zotac ION offers support for DirectX10, Open GL2.1, Nvidia CUDA and PhysX games and applications thanks to its 16 blazing fast stream processors.
The integrated Intel Atom processor will provide ample performance for those wanting to surf the web, listen to music, email and other daily computing tasks. Those needing more peformance for resource hungry applications can select the optional Dual Core Atom N330 processor to meet their demanding requirements. The Zotac ION allows high speed network connectivity using the optional 802.11n wireless card allowing file transfer and video streaming at speeds up to 144MB/s.
Silky smooth 1080p playback is achieved through Nvidia’s PureVideo HD technology allowing playback of 1080p movies and enhancemant of standard definition content to near HD quality without suffering from the ill effects of stuttering. Based around the idea of an HTPC the Zotaz ION is equipped with a native HDCP compliant HDMI output allowing the ION to be hooked up to high definition monitors or TVs. DVI and VGA output are also included should older or multiple display connectivity be required.
