Asetek recieves $600K as a result of a Patent Infringement lawsuit
Asetek has announced that they have today received a payment of $600K as a result of their Patent Infringement lawsuit against Cooler Master International.
This comes after the US Court of Appeals upheld previous rulings that Cooler Master infringed on Asetek’s patents, banning the sale of certain items and forcing Cooler Master to pay a 14.5% royalty on infringing sales since 2012. The original ruling was issued in December 2014, with Cooler Master failing to pay any damages or injunction fees until the appeals process was finished.
Now Cooler Master has paid their damages to Asetek with interest, bringing this long-running court battle to a close. Sloth Eriksen, the founder and CEO of Asetek has this to say;

Since this court case has taken place, Cooler Master has significantly redesigned their liquid cooling lineup to remove and trace of Asetek patent-infringing technologies, giving them what can be today be considered some of the most unique AIO liquid cooler designs on the market.
Asetek currently makes products for a wide range of cooling applications, from the server market all the way to consumer desktop PC, offering their OEM designs to Corsair, NZXT, Antec, and many other cooler manufacturers.
