be quiet! releases its Pure Rock 2 tower cooler to deliver great cooling and low noise levels to the masses
Back at CES, be quiet! revealed its Pure Rock 2 CPU cooler, a new competitor to Cooler Master’s infamous Hyper 212 series. The Pure Rock 2 aims to deliver users 150W of cooling performance with a low noise fan and high levels of memory compatibility. With this, be quiet! wants to become one of the best choices in the world of low-cost CPU coolers.Â
With its Pure Wings 2 120mm fan, be quiet’s Pure Rock 2 will run with a maximum fan speed of 1,500 RPM, operating with noise levels which max out at 26.8 dB. That’s whisper-levels of quiet. Not bad for a CPU cooler that’s running at its highest fan speeds.  Â
CPU-wise, the Pure Rock 2 supports all current CPU sockets from Intel and AMD, with the only exceptions being AMD’s colossal TR4 and sTRx4 sockets, making the Pure Rock 2 an ideal cooling solution for most PC configurations.Â
The be quiet! Pure Base 2 will be available in the UK for £33.99, for its silver variant, and £38.99 for its black-coloured counterpart. These coolers should arrive at retailers in the coming weeks.Â
