be quiet unveils their mainstream Pure Base 501 PC case
be quiet! reveals their new Pure Base 501 PC case at Gamescom
We have revisited the be quiet booth at Gamescom (see their setup here) to have a look at their new Pure Base 501 PC case. This is a new mainstream case offering from be quiet that will be available in both “Silent” and “Airflow” forms. Furthermore, the airflow model will have both glass and steel side panel options.
This new chassis replaces be quiet’s popular Pure Base 500, and is due to become available this November. Out of the box this case features two 140mm Pure Wings 3 fans. One of these fans acts as a front intake, while the other is an exhaust. Users can install more fans inside this PC case to boost its cooling potential.
The airflow models of the 501 will be available in both Black and White. At Gamescom we only saw the black models on show. Though we did get to se this case in its airflow and silent forms.
be quiet has claimed that this new PC case can support liquid cooling radiators that are up to 360mm in size, and support vertically mounted graphics cards using an optional extra. All models of this case will ship with a 3-year warranty.
We managed to get the rear side panel off one of be quiet’s 501 cases to get a glimpse of its cable management. To say the least, we were impressed. We can see lots of reusable velcro cable ties, and plenty of space for cable management behind this case’s motherboard tray.
Depending on the model of case you purchase, the be quiet Pure Base 501 will cost between $89.90 and $109.90. UK pricing has not been confirmed yet. As mentioned before, these cases will become available in November.
