Corsair releases their Obsidian 1000D Super-Tower chassis
Corsair releases their 1000D Super-Tower chassisÂ
Corsair has officially announced their monstrous 1000D Super-Tower PC case, a colossal monolithic enclosure which has enough space inside to fit within it two fully water cooled systems with no compromises.
Within this chassis, there is support for two motherboards, up to EATX for the user’s primary system and a Mini-ITX motherboard for the user’s secondary system. To power these two systems, users can place two PSUs within the chassis, a full-sized ATX power supply for the user’s primary computer and an SFX power supply for the user’s MITX secondary system.Â
Storage-wise, behemoth offers space for up to five 3.5-inch drive bays and room for up to six 2.5-inch drives, ensuring that both systems have enough storage for any use case. On the case’s front I/O there are four total USB 3.0 connections and two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C connections, all of which are RGB illuminated.Â
Built into the chassis Corsair has integrated a Commander Pro fan/lighting control unit, which can be used in conjunction with Corsair’s iCUE software to control fan speeds, chassis illumination and read temperature sensors.   Â
 Â
The Obsidian Series 1000D is the ultimate super-tower PC case, able to house the most incredible PCs within its iconic tempered glass design. Hinged tempered glass and aluminium doors make accessing your system a breeze, while a dual-system layout lets you install two full PCs into a single case.
An integrated CORSAIR COMMANDER PRO lighting and fan controller makes your case smart, able to control and monitor your system using CORSAIR LINK software. Telescoping fan and radiator trays, up to 20 fan mounts and a triple-chamber design equip the 1000D for the most ambitious of cooling setups, able to mount four 480mm radiators simultaneously. When you want to create the most epic build, only the 1000D is up to the challenge
Â
Like all Obsidian series cases, the 1000D is designed with water coolers in mind, with all radiator mounts coming on rails for easy installation. At stock, the top rail on the chassis supports up to a 420mm (3x140mm) radiator while the front rail offers support for two 480mm (4x120mm) radiators. Corsair has stated that these mounts can be replaced, giving 1000D users a lot more water cooling options. Replacement mounts will be available on the Corsair store in the near future.Â
This chassis is aimed at users who typically own two systems that are used within the same room, with a prime example being a streaming PC where one PC is used for gaming while the other is used for footage capture, streaming and video editing.Â
(Potential Radiator options on the Corsair 1000D, may require aftermarket radiator mounting brackets)Â Â
Corsair’s insane 1000D chassis will be available for purchase with an MSRP of £449.99 in the UK.Â
