EK announces their new GTX FE series of water blocks

In the past, water coolers bought a waterblocks for a specific GPU hardware, making it impossible to upgrade your GPU without also requiring a new GPU water block.

Now EK is taking a very different approach, by creating a new series of water blocks that are designed to be compatible with all of Nvidia’s Founders Editions GTX 10-series GPUs, which includes the GTX 1060, GTX 107, GTX 1080, GTX 1080 Ti and the Pascal Titan X and Titan Xp.

This new approach to water block design allows buyers to have some upgrade room with their water block purchase, allowing users of GPUs like the GTX 1060 FE and GTX 1070 FE to upgrade to higher-end hardware like the GTX 1080 Ti, without the need to purchase a new water block.

With the announcement of this new GTX 10-series Founder Edition water block, all previous Founders Edition water block designs will be discontinued. EK’s new FE edition waterblock function on all reference GTX 10-series GPUs, so it makes sense to stop making their older water blocks given their more limited compatibility/userbase.

Below are the prices of EK’s new FE series of water blocks, which are compatible with all GTX 1080, 1080 Ti and Titan X series backplates.
