EK has released new 420 and 560mm CoolStream series Slim radiators
More radiator space often means an increase of liquid mass in a liquid cooling system, which will be able to maintain lower temperatures for longer and more radiator space will provide more avenues for heat dissipation, this is why large radiators are so attractive to water coolers. Larger radiators will also allow liquid coolers to turn down their fans to lower RPMs, lowering noise levels without having as much of an impact on thermals.
For PC users ultra-large radiators are not commonly supported, but that does not mean that such radiators are not in demand, be it in a custom case designs or the large number of PC/Desk hybrids that have been popping up in recent years. To service this market, EK has now created their new 420mm and 560mm CoolStream Slim series of radiators, which offer support for three or four 140mm fans respectively.Â
These new radiators are 28mm thick and are slightly wider than the 140mm fans that they use, making these radiators suitable for some fairly tight space, well… at least when compared to thicker 420/560mm radiators. These rads come with a square housing and with matte black paint, with a thin layer of black paint over the radiators dense fin-array (22 FPI, Fins-Per-Inch). Â
EK has created these water blocks with 90% copper, with brass chambers, copper fins and an aluminium housing (which doesn’t touch any liquid).
