Noctua confirms Chromax Black NL-LC1 liquid cooler plans

This new cooler is missing from Noctua’s roadmap, and it’s launching this year

Noctua has confirmed its plan to launch a Chromax Black NL-LC1 CPU cooler, a new liquid cooler that is missing from the company’s recently released hardware roadmap. In a recent Hardware Canucks YouTube video, as spotted by Uniko’s Hardware, Noctua confirmed that a Chromax Black NL-LC1 cooler is coming, and that it should be released before the end of this year.

This new cooler will be an all-black counterpart of Noctua’s existing NL-LC1 CPU cooler. It should arrive with all of the same radiator size options as its larger counterpart. This means that there should be 240mm, 360mm, and 420mm versions. All three models should use Noctua’s NF-A G2 series fans.

Noctua’s NL-LC1 CPU cooler is a strong performer, and its focus on low noise output sets it apart from many other high-end liquid-cooling solutions. Noctua’s custom pump and pump top greatly reduce pump-related noise. This allows Noctua to maximise the performance levels of its newest cooler without generating excessive noise. Add on Noctua’s latest fans, and we have a quiet but performant CPU cooling solution.

Noctua’s standard colour scheme has always been divisive. Some love its brown/beige aesthetic, while others would simply prefer all of Noctua’s fans to be Chromax Black. If nothing else, it cannot be denied that Noctua’s colour scheme makes a statement. That statement is that Noctua is a performance- and noise-focused brand. That’s why their fans lack RGB lighting and why they don’t have reverse-blade fans. Their brown and beige colour scheme allows users to highlight this as their focus (or simply their preference for that colour scheme).
