Noctua expands its Chromax Black lineup with NH-D15S and NH-U9S heatsinks
Like other Chromax Black series coolers, Noctua’s new NH-D15S and NH-U9S heatsinks use a black coating that’s designed to offer thermal performance levels which deliver load temperatures that are within 1 degree of a non-Chromax cooler. This minor thermal difference is well within the margin of error for CPU thermal testing, allowing Noctua to sell these heatsinks without compromising thermals to improve their heatsink’s aesthetics.Â
Noctua’s NH-D15S and NH-U9S heatsinks are identical to their regular non-S counterparts, aside from an asymmetric design which is designed to enable increased comparability with certain motherboard designs, enabling increased RAM compatibility for the and full clearance for the top PCIe slot on some motherboards.Â
Users of these coolers can also mount additional fans on their heatsinks should they have sufficient space within their chassis, offering additional performance.Â
Alongside these new Chromax heatsinks, Noctua has also released new brown anti-vibration pads for the company’s 200mm, 140mm, 120mm, 92mm and 80mm fans, allowing users of the company’s Chromax black fans to add some of Noctua’s signature brown colouring to their systems. Each set contains 16 pads, which is enough to support up to two fans.Â
