Noctua teases new Chromax Black NF-A12x25 G2 fans

Noctua teases its new NF-A12x25 G2 Chromax Black fans

It’s almost here. Noctua has started to tease its new NF-A12x25 G2 Chromax Black fans. Soon, Noctua’s entire G2 series lineup will be available in black, giving PC enthusiasts an alternative to Noctua’s brown and beige colour scheme.

Following last year’s release of Noctua’s Chromax Black NH-D15 G2 CPU cooler and NF-A14x25 G2 fans, the launch of Noctua’s new NF-A12X25 G2 fans will complete the company’s G2 Chromax Black range. This paves the way for more new Noctua products, including a Chromax Black version of Noctua’s planned All-in-One CPU liquid cooler.

Making Chromax Black fans requires more than a dye change

Last week, Noctua told us why it takes so long for them to make Chromax Black fans. Full details are available here; the short answer is testing, testing, and more testing. Noctua makes its fans with tight tolerances, and even a subtle change in materials can affect those tolerances. That means that Noctua needed new moulds and another set of months-long reliability tests, slowing Noctua’s time to market.

Since Noctua has started teasing its new black-edition NF-A12X25 G2 fans, I expect they will be available within the next few weeks. So if you want to build an all-black Noctua G2 series PC, your wait is almost over.
