Noctua teases “Next-Gen” 120mm fans

Noctua plans to launch an NF-A12x25 successor in early 2025

Noctua has confirmed that they plan to release next-gen 120mm fans in Q1 2025. These fans will be successors to Noctua’s popular NF-A12x25 fans, which launched back in 2018. While Noctua hasn’t confirmed the name of their next-generation fan, this upcoming fan is likely called the NF-A12x25 G2.

With these new fans, Noctua aims to deliver lower noise levels and stronger cooling performance for cases and heatsinks. The fans will likely feature many of the design features of the company’s recently released NF-A14x25 G2 fans.

Since Noctua’s next-generation fan is likely called the NF-A12x25 G2, one must wonder if Noctua plans to create a thicker NF-A12x30 G2 variant. After all, thicker fans can deliver more airflow, as larger/thicker fan blades can push more air. Since Noctua’s competitors already ship thicker 120mm fans; perhaps now it’s time for Noctua to do the same?

Currently, it’s unknown how much these next-gen 120mm fans from Noctua will cost. However, these fans will likely be used to create a new “next-gen 120mm dual-tower CPU cooler” later in 2025. Let’s hope that Noctua can deliver on their roadmap on time, allowing these new products to come to market quickly and without delays.
