Noctua teases the “Future of PC Cooling” ahead of Computex

Is that a thermosiphon cooler? Noctua has a lot to show us at Computex 2025

Noctua has started to tease what it calls the “Future of PC Cooling”. At Computex 2025, Noctua plans to showcase its upcoming thermosiphon-based CPU cooler. “It all boils down to this…” Noctua says.

At a Noctua event earlier this year, CEO Roland Mossig showcased a prototype of a thermosiphon-based CPU liquid cooling solution. This cooler is reportedly due to be released in 2026.

What’s interesting about this new cooling solution is that it doesn’t feature a pump. This CPU liquid cooler is a two-phase thermosiphon solution, which uses a special refrigerant to transfer heat from your CPU to the cooler’s radiator.

When heated, this cooler’s coolant vaporises and moves from its water block to its radiator. Then the coolant is cooled and liquified. After that, the coolant moves back to the CPU. By lacking a pump, this cooling solution lacks a noise source and a failure point. As such, this cooling solution could be incredibly quiet and more reliable than other CPU liquid cooling solutions.

It’s clear that Noctua believes that thermosiphon technology is the future of CPU cooling. That said, it remains to be seen how this technology really performs and what its limitations are. We’re looking forward to learning more about this tech next week.
