Thermaltake Delivers Multiple new Colour Options for its Popular Mini ITX The Tower 100 PC Case   

If we love one trend here at OC3D, it’s the increasing variety of colour options within the case market. Yes, we are well known for loving white cases, but it’s great to see modern enclosures offer consumers more than the standard Black/White colour options that most PC enclosures are limited to. 

Thermaltake knows that there is more to PC building than simple black or white boxes. Variety is the spice of life, and Thermaltake’s new Tourquise and Racing Green colour options for their The Tower 100 enclosure have added some welcome flavour to its 2021 product lineup. 

For the uninitiated, Thermaltake’s The Tower 100 chassis is a Mini-ITX enclosure designed for showcase PCs, offering users the ability to view their hardware from three sides through three tempered glass side panels windows. Previously, these cases were available with black and white colour options, though that has changed with the introduction of the company’s new Touquoise and Racing Green options. More Colour, without the RGB

There is more to PC building than throwing hardware into a box to enable maximum performance. PC building is a way that hardware enthusiasts can express themselves by modding their cases or carefully selecting components to work with their custom design. While RGB enabled PCs can look great, many consumers dislike the rainbow patterns utilised by default with most modern PC components. This is why colour options matter and why ThermaTake’s new The Tower 100 options are welcome within today’s PC market. 

We have had Thermaltake’s Turquoise in our office for a quick look, and we have enjoyed the bright summery look that the case delivers. While Tourquoise may not be your first colour choice, this option is undoubtedly a breath of fresh air compared to the usual White, Black, and Gunmetal Grey cases that usually occupy our limited office space.  

If you need a little more summer in your office or gaming room as winter settles in, perhaps Tourquoise is the colour of your next PC case. Thermaltake even has some matching RAM and fans for you if that is the case. 

  

Aside from colour chances, Thermaltake’s The Tower 100 enclosure is the sea as it was before. The enclosure has plenty of air-filtered intakes, three tinted tempered glass windows, and two included 120mm fans. 

The case itself is a compacted version of their larger The Tower 900 enclosure. Thanks to the ITX form factor, Thermaltake’s The Tower series has been compacted down to a more manageable form factor. The case measures in at 462.8 x 266 x 266mm and can contain PSUs that are up to 180mm long, GPUs that are up to 330mm long and CPU coolers that are up to 190mm high. The case can also be used with a 120mm liquid cooling radiator. 

Building Tips for the Tourquoise The Tower 100 model

Thermaltake’s Tourquoise model of their The Tower 100 enclosure is bright and striking, and we believe that it is best paired with white hardware to help extend the case’s summery aesthetic.  

Given the case’s use of tinted tempered glass windows, you need internal lighting or bright hardware to see anything within the tri-windowed enclosure. This is why we believe that white hardware is best suited to this enclosure. Sadly, these tinted windows also minimise the impact of Thermaltake’s Tourquoise RAM kits. Personally, I think that Thermaltake should have used untinted windows with this brighter The Tower 100 case model. 

While this case does support 120mm All-In-One (AIO) liquid coolers, many users will prefer to use an air-cooling setup. With this case supporting CPU coolers with CPU coolers that are up to 190mm tall, you are unlikely to find a CPU cooler that won’t fit within this enclosure. 

  
  
Building tips for the Racing Green The Tower 100

Green hardware is incredibly uncommon, especially if you are looking for a specific shade of green. Thankfully, this darker look will blend in well with black components, which are commonplace within today’s market. 

Racing Green is commonly used with Yellow/Gold highlights within the racing world, and sadly those colours are also uncommon within today’s PC market. This means that PC builders will need to put their modding hats on if they want to go down the full “racing” green route that this colour option leans towards. That said, Thermaltake does have a Metallic Gold RAM kit that may be intended for this purpose. 

Careful modders could paint the shrouds of their GPU coolers or other non-functional parts of their system to match this colour scheme, though this option is only viable for those with the time and effort that’s necessary to complete such mods. We’d love to see someone use Thermaltake’s The Tower 100 chassis invokes the imagery of classic British Racing Green sports cars of old with their own custom PC. 

 
  
Matching hardware – RAM and Fans

Thermaltake’s new Racing Green and Tourquoise colour options come as part of an effort from Thermaltake to increase the variety within the company’s product portfolio. Recently, we reported on Thermaltake’s new colour options for their TOUGHFAN 12 series, but that is only the beginning of Thermaltake’s new coloured product options. 

Thermaltake has released new TOUGHRAM DDR4 kits that offer high 3600MHz speeds, RGB support and colour options that include Black White Racing Green, Metallic Gold, Racing Red, and Turquoise.  

Moving forward, we expect to see more coloured products from Thermaltake, and new white options for their All-In-One liquid coolers. We welcome these new options for Thermaltake’s lineup and look forward to seeing what the company has cooked up for 2022.
