Alleged Ryzen 9000 Series CPU Specifications Leak – Up to 5.7 GHz clock speeds
AMD Ryzen 9000 series desktop specifications leak ahead of official reveal
Thanks to @CodeCommando on Twitter/X, leaked specifications for AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series of Desktop processors have become available before AMD’s official Computex reveal event. These leaked specifications suggest that AMD’s new Zen 5 processors will feature similar clock speeds and cache sizes as their predecessors. Well, at least on paper.
One of the most interesting aspects of this leak is the alleged TDPs of AMD’s new Zen 5 CPUs. All models, aside from the Ryzen 9 9950X, have a lower TDP than their Ryzen 7000 series counterpart. This suggests that AMD has been able to significantly increase the power efficiency of their Zen 5 CPU designs. If this is true, this will be hugely beneficial for AMD when it comes to cooling their CPUs. Beyond that, power efficiency increases have huge implications for the laptop/mobile CPU market.
For single CCD Zen 5 models like the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X, these leaked specifications showcase a higher maximum frequency for AMD’s new processors. This claim is supported by leaked slides from Gigabyte. These slides suggest that AMD’s Zen 5 CPUs will offer users increased frequencies when compared with Zen 4.
| CPU Architecture | Cores/Threads | Max Boost | Cache (L2+L3) | TDP | |
| Ryzen 9 9950X (Leaked) | Zen 5 | 16/32 | 5.7 GHz | 80 MB | 170W |
| Ryzen 9 9900X (Leaked) | Zen 5 | 12/24 | 5.6 GHz | 76 MB | 120W |
| Ryzen 7 9700X (Leaked) | Zen 5 | 8/16 | 5.5 GHz | 40 MB | 65W |
| Ryzen 5 9600X (Leaked) | Zen 5 | 6/12 | 5.4 GHz | 38 MB | 65W |
| Ryzen 9 7950X | Zen 4 | 16/32 | 5.7 GHz | 80 MB | 170W |
| Ryzen 9 7900X | Zen 4 | 12/24 | 5.6 GHz | 76 MB | 170W |
| Ryzen 7 7700X | Zen 4 | 8/16 | 5.4 GHz | 40 MB | 105W |
| Ryzen 5 7600X | Zen 4 | 6/12 | 5.3 GHz | 38. MB | 105W |
