AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D has hit a new pricing low in the UK
AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D is arguably the company’s best gaming CPU. Yes, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D exists, but it only offers a minor clock-speed bump at the cost of a much higher power draw. Furthermore, it is much more expensive. Today, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D hit a new pricing low in the UK, dropping to £339 at Amazon UK.
At the start of 2026, AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D cost £399.99. Now the CPU is £60 less expensive. That’s a price drop of almost 18%. For context, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D cost £349.99 in January, which is more than today’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D price. Another thing to note is that AMD’s Ryzen 7 9700X (non-X3D) CPU launched for £339.99 in the UK.
While this price isn’t enough to counter recent DRAM price rises, it does make AMD’s newest X3D CPUs much more exciting upgrade options. This is especially true for gamers who are already on AMD’s AM5 platform.

With a price tag only 13% higher than that of a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, there is little reason not to go for AMD’s newer X3D model. AMD’s Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs feature much higher clock speeds than their Ryzen 7000X3D counterparts, giving them a notable performance advantage. Add on AMD’s Zen 5 architectural benefits, and that can lead to major performance gains in some games.
